The African American history is one of the richest histories of the world. There are so many incidents that occurred during this period. It is quite difficult to learn about each and every one of those incidents.

But people who are interested about this history will surely want to learn about some of the most important incidents of this period. The African American history month is a matter of research. In this case the history month is actually the month of February.

Long before when there was no freedom for people of African American origin it became quite difficult for them to live their life. These people had to go through a great amount of struggle as well as adversity during the struggle for freedom.

Among the various methods they spent in struggles February has left a mark on the minds of the people of that origin as well as on the minds of the people throughout the world. The records of struggle are available in various documents.

The African American community had made certain contributions to the society. But the contributions were not recognized in the beginning. The historian organized a special foundation to project the work on the lives of these strugglers. This event took place in the month of February.

The week which was chosen for this special occasion also had the birthdays of two of the most important people who belonged to that struggle, Fredrick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln.

The response that this project received was overwhelming and February become one of the remarkable months of the history of African American community. Lots of people came forward to endorse this cause. Even some of the responsible white citizens also came up to the forefront to help this cause.

The teachers wanted proper materials so that they can pass this history to their students and the future generation of the country. Enthusiastic philanthropists also cam forward to support this cause.

There was an awakening of the black which mattered a lot at this point of time. Therefore the African American history month of February has always been special and the contributions of the people and historians can never be forgotten.
